Karen and her husband, Jack Brushert, own a privately held company, in the Luxury Construction sector supplying premium custom wood doors, windows, cabinetry, millwork and furniture direct to luxury residential destinations at Mauna Kea, Kukio, Hualalai, Kohanaiki, Mauna Lani and Kapalua & Makena, Maui. Factories are located in Guatemala, British Columbia, Canada, and Indonesia.
Previously, Karen’s background was in corporate finance with Five-Star Resorts, and Private Golf Clubs. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts from ASU in Philosophy and a Masters in Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird.
Karen speaks conversational Japanese, and some Spanish. Golf brought Karen to Hawaii with a full golf scholarship to University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1984. She can still be found chasing the little white ball down an emerald green Hawaiian fairway carved between ocean and lava with neighbors and friends.
Living on The Big Island and Oahu for almost 20 years, Karen loves to share the very best of Hawaii’s rich culture, wonderful amenities and innate beauty with both old time and new friends.
